    Description

This listing is for a very solid and restorable later 1959 or 1960 International Harvester B-110 two wheel drive half ton pickup truck. This truck still has what is most likely the same 6 cylinder engine that it came with when new. I don't know how to tell for sure so please let me know if you can. It has a three speed column shifted manual transmission. It seems that I see a lot more of these pickups witih the optional floor shifted 4 speed manual transmission than I do with the handier to shift standard 3 speed column shifted transmission.
I was born in 1952 and I can still remember the day Day brought home a new 1960 B-160 International truck cab and chassis. It was painted a metallic bronze color and is still part of the family ranch fleet. I always thought the B series trucks were prettier than the A series that preceded them. This is due to the stacked dual headlights, the massive shinny aluminum grille and the refined instrument cluster used on the B series trucks.
As you can see in the photos, there is some minor rust in the cab floor boards under the driver's and passenger's feet. The cab floor is fine under the seat. There are also some rust blisters forming on both of the cab rear corners so there are some small rust holes there too. The cab doors are fine and not rusted out anywhere. Neither of the doors have the typical cracks behind the vent window posts so this vehicle was not used a lot or at least not used a lot on rough roads. The box floor is not rusted out anywhere but it has many small dents in it which is typical for any pickup truck that has been used much. The tail gate has several issues and will need a lot of work or to be replaced.
The cab roof has never been jumped on or caved in at all so that is a ,000 bonus if you hire your metal work done. The hood is very nice and the front fenders are good with only minor damage on them. I upgraded the very fragile aluminum grille with a very nice one I bought here on eBay a while ago. It does have a very shallow dent on the upper perimeter about 10" or so to the left of the center. The chrome trim with the gold IH badge above the grille is very nice with only minor pitting on it. Both of the headlamp bezels look good but have tiny cracks in them. It is very hard to find these bezels that have no damage or pitting on them.
The seat bottom cushion is not shown in these photos but it is included. It is a good spring assembly with no upholstery on it. The seat backrest cushion has the original upholstery on it but it is in poor condition. The glove box door is missing and I am working on getting one. The accelertor pedal is missing. The steering wheel has cracks but the original horn button that is usually gone is included and is in nice original condition. The door inner panels are painted gray and look very good.
The ignition sysem appears to be complete but the generator is missing. The fuel system is complete except for the carburetor and gas tank. I am pretty sure I have the air cleaner for this truck. The cooling system is compete even though the photos show the thermostat housing to be missing. I found it in amongst the loose parts in the cab and installed it after these photos were taken.
The engine was not stuck when I found this truck and the starter turns it but the starter sounds rough so it will probably need to be rebuilt. I primed the engine and tried to make it run a bit but it never did. I fooled with the ignition system for a few minutes but never got a spark. I am sure this engine will run but it will need some work on the starter and ignition system as well as a carburetor to make it run well.
The man that had this truck also had a similar vintage of 4 wheel drive that he had a snow plow on. It is obvious that this truck was used as a parts truck to keep the 4 wheel drive plow truck running. That is why the generator and carburetor are missing and why the seat bottom cushion has no upholstery on it.
I do not presently have a title for this vehicle but I started the process of getting one here in Montana and should have it in 2 or 3 weeks or so. The last photo of this listing is of a period magazine ad page to show how nice this truck could look when it is fixed up a bit. This ad is available here on eBay and is NOT part of this listing.
I have plenty of free and resonably secure storage here in central Montana so it is no problem to store this truck for a year of two if you are planning a trip to beautiful Montana sometime in the future. I have a lot of friends traveling throughout the country that may be able to safely and economically deliver this vehicle depending on where you live and how soon you want it.
Fifty seven year old International pickup trucks as solid and straight as this one is are hard to find today. If you are serious about owning one of the prettiest and more fun to drive (due to the 3 speed column shifted transmission) trucks IH ever built, you might do well to give some very serious considertion buying this one.
Thanks a lot, Bob Woodburn in Bozeman Montana
