    Description

These are Medical Grade Graduated Compression Socks that meet stringent U.S. FDA certification standards. If 20-30 mmHg compression therapy has been prescribed by a doctor then these are the correct types of socks.  If sized CORRECTLY, these socks will apply 30 mmHg pressure around the ankles and gradually decrease until the applied pressure is 20 mmHg just above the meatiest part of the calf. If done just right the pressure pattern counteracts the effects of gravity in a standing position. Considerable medical research has gone into defining the precise pressure distribution to counteract blood pooling in a standing position. The additional challenge is to actually manufacture socks to produce this precise pressure range. These socks are manufactured on state of the art programmable circular knitting machines. Each sock is tested on a pressure test leg to verify that the desired pressure schedule has been achieved. This may explain why compression socks can cost upwards of a pair. Compression socks are not merely tight fitting socks. Socks that are tight fitting in the wrong places may actually work against a patient and may actually be dangerous.
The material is Lycra microfiber resulting in thinner, lighter weight socks suitable for all day wear. The inherent wicking function works to keep the skin dryer resulting in less foot odor and fungal issues. As part of the FDA testing, the material was tested in a university medical test center for skin compatibility testing.

Recommended for vein problems, D.V.T., diabetes, post-surgery, scar compression. These socks are also used by athletes although we have not conducted any testing to that effect. Also used by air travelers, people who stand for extended periods of time for work etc.
    FAQs:
    Are these TEDs?
No, these are not Anti-Embolism Stockings (also called TED) which are generally constant compression and not intended for active persons. TED's are usually for post-operative patients still bed-ridden.
    Are these Soccer stockings?
These are not soccer stockings. Those tend to be much thicker and are not compression critical. Also soccer stockings provide some degree of cushioning.
Why are they less than half the store prices?
Simple answer is the high mark up because insurance plans generally consider these to cost - and will pay accordingly. But then most insurance plans limit the number of socks they will cover in a year, so people resort to generic brands to have enough to last a week of laundry. Our manufacturer OEM's for many leading brands so we know the pricing structure. Our socks are sold in simple packaging without boxes.
Are the sizes the same with other brands?
No. The sizes ranges are somewhat similar to the Jobst and Sigvaris brands you mention. If you are in the middle of the size range its pretty much the same. The problem is when you are in the border between say a medium and a large. Then you really should be wearing a medium-large but there is no such size. This is the area where a user might say the Jobst fit better or the Juzo, etc.
Ideally socks should be custom made. Failing that, maybe 20 sizes to choose from. However, like the others we try to pigeon-hole the general public into 5 size ranges; XS, S, M, L, XL.
What other sizes do you carry?
We carry these socks in Medium, Large and X-Large. We have Small but only in white.
Do you carry other types of socks?
No. We stopped carrying open-toe versions, thigh-highs and other compressions.
We recognize that buying size dependent items such as socks online raises concerns. So we suggest you buy only one pair first. That way you can be sure they are right for you. If not we'd gladly take them back.
    Who are you guys?
We are medical distributors. We also have been selling compression socks online since 2004. We've sold thousands and thousands of compression socks.
“I recommend these compression socks over any other brand because it is a quality product and you can immediately tell it is a quality product from the feel and comfort. I should know….. I wear them myself all day”
