    Description

Believed to be from the late 1800s or perhaps early 1900s, these Bwaka (aka Bawaka) Heart Swords are not common. Believed to have originated in the Congo region of Africa, these are sometimes referred to as a knife, but this is a larger version measuring ~25" long and ~7" wide at the widest point of the blade, so it would be considered by most to be a short sword. The blade is thin but not immediately flexible (it would take some effort to flex it).
I acquired this item when I purchased an old collection of ethnic weapons that had been in storage for many years. In that sale were a number of other similar items and I will be listing those as time allows. Please check my other offerings on eBay.

If you feel I am incorrect in my assessment on this piece, please let me know. I am always open to constructive inputs from others.

I am not married to any of this stuff. Make an offer; if I can make it happen, I will. E-mail with any questions or if you need more images prior to bid/purchase (I have plenty). This item is also for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end this sale without notice at any time prior to any binding offer to purchase from this venue. Thank you.
