Antique East African Cowrie Shell Water/Milk Vessel Basket

Description

Beautiful vessel, East African, probably Oromo.
Tightly woven leather & grasses, decorated with cowrie shell, leather, lid, and handle, in excellent condition, assessed by a historian at the Portland Art Museum at 150+ years old.
This vessel has been in my private collection for 30+ years, and due to circumstances must let it go.
It is quite a lovely art object, and would be a wonderful addition to any collection.
