Description

Rig mate pair of Pratt Premier Cans.  Circa 1925.  These were made after Pratt bought out Mason Decoy Company.  They could be even made on Mason bodies.  It's hard to say.  Appear to be all original paint with the original weights on the bottom and no doubt Pratt paper decoy labels under the weights.  I bought a rig of these in 1973 with a total of 24.  These are the only two I have left.  The drake has an age split on both sides where the halves join together.  The hen shows paint missing on the back and sides because the decoy weights and cotton anchor cords had been attached to them for many years.  There were also a dozen Moak canvasbacks along with this rig of 24 Pratt cans.  The Moaks were all original paint and had the anchors on them also.  There must have been something acidic on the anchor line that took the paint off of the Pratt hen canvasback.  I removed all the anchors when I got home.  I can still remember my wife was pissed, this was on a Saturday, and I had left until the following Thursday, which was pay-day.  The hen also has a small age crack in the top of the back.  It's still a great pair of old Pratt decoys - and fond memories.   I will pay the shipping to the lower 48 states.  No returns.
