    Description

Offered for bidding is a lovely ceramic urn-shaped PLANTER made by Brush Pottery. It has two ear-like handles, and a beautiful bright blue mottled matte glaze.  This glaze was called Art Vellum, and was introduced in 1923.  Planter is well made, and quite heavy.
It measures 8 1/2 inches (21.6cm) from handle to handle, and stands 6 inches (15.2cm) tall at the rim. Opening in the top is 4 1/2 inches (11.4cm) in diameter. A U.S. quarter is shown in the second picture, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance.
The planter is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, repairs, scratches, fading or discoloration. There are two tiny popped bubbles in the glaze (picture 6). They are near the bottom of the planter, so they don't show very much.
