    Description

    RALPH MALPAGE MUD HEN 10-1/4" Decoy Wood Carving
    This is a rare mud hen made by Ralph Malpage at my request. I picked up this carving from Ralph at his London, Ontario home a few months before his passing in 2017.
    He was a prolific and well-respected wildfowl decoy carver who spent countless hours in his basement workshop busy at his craft all the way up until his passing at 89 years old. Ralph was the embodiment of the word "gentleman."
    This mud hen is beautifully carved and hand-painted. The wings are carved slightly lifted from the body. There is varied feather texturing throughout
    . Eyes are glass and body is solid.
    It is signed "Ralph Malpage" and "MUD HEN".
    "R. MALPAGE LONDON ONT." is also burned in.
