    Los Angeles Class Attack Submarine: Laid down, 1 August 1979, at Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Co., Newport News, VA.; Launched, 3 October 1981; Commissioned, USS Norfolk (SSN-714), 21 May 1983. Norfolk was assigned to the US Atlantic Fleet and homeported at Norfork, VA. She was decommissioned on 11 December 2014 at her homeport of Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia.
